The 37-year-old Latin singer emerges as a beautiful bride in white about to walk down the aisle in a flower-decked church in the stunning visual.
But in a dreamy twist, Shakira has a change of heart and is seen picking up her skirts and running away across a green sunlit field.
Shakira's video gets really interesting when she's seen standing on the church steps with her ruffled train catching fire.
She gives the viewer a sultry look while singing, 'You're my wildfire every single night... we are alive... and the stars make love to the universe and you touch me and I'm like, and I'm like...'
Empire is the second single from Shakira's self-titled new album, which was released also on Tuesday.

It's an emotion-packed follow-up to her first single with Rihanna called Can't Remember To Forget You.

The Colombian-born songstress, who
has been in a relationship with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique since
2011 and is the mother of their son Milan, 14 months, has never wed.She previously was in a 11-year relationship with Antonio de la Rua.
'I used to believe I had to be married to have kids,' she told USA Today in 2009. 'The culture kind of gives us tunnel vision. But we function as a married couple; we don't need papers for that.'

As Shakira told Billboard, 'He's very territorial, and since he no longer lets me do videos with men, well, I have to do them with women.
'It's more than implied in our relationship that I can't do videos like I used to. It's out of the question - which I like, by the way. I like that he protects his turf and he values me, in a way that the only person that he would ever let graze my thigh would be Rihanna.'
