It's curtains for Katy's stylist! Perry makes a fashion faux pas in unflattering dress and matching cloak at Beatles event in LA

At least she looks happy with it: Katy Perry smiles as she wears an outfit that appears to be made from old pair of curtains at a Beatles event in LA on Monday

When it comes to her personal fashion style, it seems that Katy Perry is as quirky as her music.

The Roar singer chose an interesting
ensemble as she performed at The Night That Changed America event on Monday, which appeared to be made from an pair of old curtains.

The night was a 'Grammy Salute To The Beatles' and Katy was certainly feeling nostalgic when it came to the wardrobe department.

The long-flowing rose-print gown and matching cloak disguised the Prism star's figure, which she had shown off at the Grammy Awards the night before in LA.
It didn't get much better backstage either, as Katy posed with her boyfriend John Mayer, 36, who was wearing a pair of harem trousers, and a brown knitted cardigan.
Katy is clearly itching to get back onstage full-time, and last night teased plans for her eagerly-anticipated Prism tour which kicks off on June 22 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Speaking about preparation for the gigs on the Grammys red carpet, Katy told Entertainment Tonight: 'Every week we get together at my kitchen table and we kind of just go at it.
'What we're going to play, what we're going to look like, how we're going to fly around the arena.'
'It's going to be the most fun show you've seen. And that's saying a lot because I thought my last tour was pretty fun. Everybody left that tour being sprayed with confetti and whipped cream.'
Concentrate on the music... not the outfit: Unlike her clothes, Katy went for a stripped back performance style as she took to the stage with an acoustic band

The 29-year-old singer gave fans an idea of what the live shows will be like by performing her new song Dark Horse dressed like a witch at the Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

She wore a black and purple dress and pole-danced against a broom stick before being surrounded by a ring of fire during the dramatic show.

Katy told E! News before the show that her performance was 'kind of inspired' by Stevie Nicks.

She said: 'Let's just say, one of my favourite lines: "Which witch is which?"'

After a fairly standard start to the 2014 Grammys red carpet, Katy Perry's dress really struck a chord with us. It was like music to our... eyes? And although we've seen a more gothic side to Katy recently, we love that she's gone back to her whimsical roots.
This dress with printed sheet music has got Grammys written all over it. Almost literally! We bet there was a whole host of celebs who spotted this dress and wanted it for tonight but it was Katy who got to the front of the queue. She is, after all nominated for Song of the Year and Solo Performance. And now she's just won most appropriate dress from us too!
Without those notes it would be a little too wedding dress-esque (did you hear that, John Mayer?!) but we love the dramatic full tulle skirt and even though it's fairly sheer, it feels pretty, not provocative.
The dress is straight off Valentino's Spring 2014 catwalk. Every celebrity worth their sartorial salt wore something from the Fall collection, and it looks like this one is going to be no different. Of course, copying couture is a tough task, but we have come at it from the tutu-style tulle angle. Shop our four fairytale frocks below so Cinderella, you shall go to the ball!
