Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong'o, And More Are Best Dressed At The 2014 SAG Awards

Jennifer Lawrence
'Tis the season for golden statuettes and designer gowns! We've gotten a little spoiled over the past couple of weeks in terms of red carpet looks, and luckily for us, the appearances at tonight's SAG Awards did NOT disappoint. We got our fair share of classic formalwear, glamorous gowns, and dapper tuxedos, but there were also some fashion risk-takers who completely stole the show.
Take a look at some of our highlights, and let us know which ones are your faves!
JENNIFER LAWRENCE IN DIOR

Let's all say it together: WOWZA. After her polarizing Golden Globes dress (Is it chic? Is it a ripoff of The Little Mermaid?), we're pretty sure Jennifer Lawrence's 2014 SAG Awards dress will earn 100%-positive reviews. Her couture Dior gown was head-to-toe sequins, sequins, and more sequins, and she pulled it off like a BOSS. Seriously, who else could look that good in THICK, horizontal blue-and-purple stripes? And since the sparkling number was so dazzling on its own, Jennifer was wise to pick just one piece of statement jewelry—in this case, a pair of long gold and purple drop earrings. Her overall look might have still been a little reminiscent of mermaids (sparkling scales and whatnot), but in a much, much better way IMHO.
LUPITA NYONG'O IN GUCCI

At this point, is anyone really surprised that Lupita Nyong'o was absolutely flawless? She nailed it at the Golden Globes, she nailed it at the Critics' Choice Awards, so we were pretty much expecting nothing less tonight. Girl did not disappoint with a Gucci dress in dazzling turquoise. It's becoming increasingly clear that she can wear literally any color ever created. Also, can we talk about that neckline?? Since the neckline was already dripping with floral embellishments, Lupita could go light on the accessories. We applaud her decision to complement her outfit simply, with dainty earrings and matching blue eye shadow.
AMY ADAMS IN ANTONIO BERARDI

There's not an ~official~ recipe for red carpet perfection, but if there was, we're pretty sure it would include sheathing a redhead in cobalt blue. Need evidence? Look no further than Amy Adams in her Antonio Berardi one-shoulder dress. The rich jewel tone perfectly offset the American Hustle actress' alabaster skin, and the angular neckline really punched up the simple dress. Amy broke up the column of color with a sparkly belt and topped off the ensemble with a swipe of coral lipstick and a pin-tucked retro updo.
SANDRA BULLOCK IN LANVIN

Sandra Bullock is one of our favorite actresses—on and off-camera—but we've been sort of underwhelmed with her red carpet looks so far this awards season. *ducks for cover* HOWEVER, this metallic emerald green Lanvin is a TOTAL knockout. Plus, her 'fit, complete with ginormous bow detail and strappy metallic heels, give us major '80s prom vibes in the BEST way.
EMILIA CLARKE IN CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION

It always takes a minute to get over the initial shock of seeing our platinum-haired queen Daenerys Targaryen as a brunette, but Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is taking advantage of awards season to make a name for herself as a style star. We love the glittering champagne color of her Calvin Klein dress, but it might have washed her out with a flaxen 'do.
SARAH HYLAND IN PAMELA ROLLAND

Sarah Hyland looked refreshingly age-appropriate in her rosy Pamela Rolland gown. Just when we thought the ruched top and high-low hem couldn't be topped, Sarah showed off the gown's biggest win: POCKETS! The dress was originally significantly shorter on the runway, but the floor-length adaptation felt more formal and fitting for the occasion. Sarah rounded out her look with sequined Jimmy Choos, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and a simple, side-swept hairdo.
KERRY WASHINGTON IN PRADA

This is probably the headline of every major publication by now, but Kerry Washington took maternity wear to a whole new level tonight. How, you ask? By wearing a sequined fuchsia crop top, of course! It was definitely a fashion risk, but it also absolutely paid off. The Prada top was an impeccable foil to the classic black skirt, and her accessories were ON. POINT.
MICHELLE DOCKERY IN J. MENDEL

Our jaws DROPPED when Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery stepped out of her car and onto the red carpet. Her bright red pout and plunging neckline were the first things to catch our attention, but honestly, the total package is stunning. The satin black-and-white top was all clean lines and menswear-inspired structure, while the sleek black skirt and its high center slit was elegant and glamorous.
