Putting the pedal to the metal: Aaron Paul showed off the driving skills he honed while shooting new movie Need For Speed as he took part in Top Gear UK's Star In A Reasonably Priced Car segment on Wednesday

He's known to a legion of fans around the world as Jesse Pinkman in now-defunct gritty TV drama Breaking Bad.
But since the show has wrapped, Aaron Paul has thrown himself into a number of new projects and moved on to more big-screen roles - including his latest in the action flick Need For Speed.
On Wednesday, the actor took to the race track as part of Top Gear UK's Star In A Reasonably Priced Car segment to show off the skills honed during the movie.

Rev-heads unite: The actor enjoyed a meet and greet with the show's professional driver The Stig at the racetrack before getting a feel for the car and course

Taking on professional driver The Stig, the 34-year-old looked rather confident and at ease behind the wheel of the bright red Vauxhall Astra as they filmed in Dunsfold, England.
The Golden Globe nominee was suitably dressed for his adrenalin-inducing afternoon at the track.
He donned dark jeans, black lace-up boots, a white T-shirt and black leather jacket.
Standoff! The two men posed side-by-side with their arms crossed as they prepared to do battle for bragging rights on the racetrack

He certainly looks the part: The 34-year-old appeared relaxed and confident as he surveyed the track and chatted with crew, clad suitably in dark jeans, lace-up black boots, a simple white tee and black leather jacket, helmet in hand

He was sporting scruffy facial hair and cropped locks under his white safety helmet.
As always, his counterpart was clad in all white, with his identity protected by his all-encompassing helmet and darkened visor.
The pro race car driver sat alongside Aaron in the passenger seat as he got a feel for the car and the track, ensuring his safety.
It's no sports car: The former Breaking Bad favourite was instructed by The Stig as he took a couple of practise laps around the course in the bright red Vauxhall Astra

Oozing confidence: Aaron didn't show any sign of nerves as he zoomed around the track with his mentor

The episode is set to air next month, where the star's fastest lap time will be revealed and recorded for prosperity and possible bragging rights.
Aaron stars in the rev-head film as Tobey Marshall, a street racer who is fresh out of jail with vengeance on his mind after being framed by a wealthy business associate.
Joining a cross-country race, the stakes suddenly become a lot higher when a bounty is placed on his head by his ex-partner.
High expectations: The actor was no doubt hoping to make it to the top of the tally board with his performance, while viewers will have to wait until the episode airs next month to find out if he was successful in his bid

All precautions taken: The Stig and the Top Gear safety crew ensured everything was up to code before letting the car - and Aaron - loose on the track
