Swimming like a canary! Claire Sweeney makes a splash in a bold yellow bikini as she soaks up the sun in Barbados

Her bubbly optimism and ever-ready smile helped sustain her career long after the final credits rolled on Brookside – the Liverpool based show that originally launched it.
But while she admits to only looking on the bright side, one could argue there was little else to observe on Friday when she hit the beach for what amounted to the final full day of her sun-kissed Caribbean holiday.
Indeed, as gale force winds tore across the UK over the weekend Claire was
in tranquil Barbados, where she was spotted frolicking on the sand in a canary yellow bikini.

The 42-year-old – a former Loose Women presenter – was in good shape as she splashed around in the surf, shortly before packing her case and flying home.

Claire has been keeping followers updated on her recent holiday by peppering her Twitter account with a series of sunny snaps – amongst them one in which she sports a colourful maxi-dress while strolling across the beach clutching a pair of white wedge heels.
The accompanying caption reads: ‘Having a lovely rest here in Barbados.’

Another shot, a picture of the ocean from her vantage point on the sand, comes with the message: ‘Busy doing nothing….. Bliss.’
The Liverpool born star’s break comes a year on from her engagement to fiancé Daniel Riley, who is 14-years her junior.
Speaking to OK! magazine in July, she opened up about the miscarriage she suffered while trying for a baby.

‘When we lost the baby, I was very philosophical about it. It wasn’t meant to be. Things weren’t right, she said.
Claire and Daniel admitted they had been to a fertility consultation but, as of last July, were yet to consider treatments.
In the past Claire admitted that meeting Daniel had helped restore her dream of having children, however she believed she suffered from ‘emotional infertility’ – which is when you are too busy to think about or make space for having a family.
At the time she said: 'I’ve suffered from putting my career first like a lot of women.’
