Daft Punk To Hit The Grammys In First TV Performance In 6 Years

Daft Punk

Get ready to "Lose Yourself To Dance" at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, as Daft Punk will make their first TV appearance since 2008. The robots will join Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, Pink and Fun.'s Nate Ruess onstage on January 26 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Daft Punk - "Lose Yourself to Dance (Official)"

Daft Punk — despite having one of the biggest records and songs of the year — haven't had a public performance in 2013. Sure, they stepped out onstage during the MTV Video Music Awards in August, but they haven't performed live in support of Random Access Memories at all this year — and a tour is merely a whispered rumor.
"We learned that because they had such a good experience with us when they appeared with Kanye in 2008, they were happy to discuss a performance on this year's show," executive producer Ken Ehrlich told Rolling Stone, referring to the 50th Grammy awards. "Conversations took place over a period of a couple of months, and finally they agreed to be a part of this year's telecast. Details of the performance are still being worked out, but the idea of having the exclusive television performance by this iconic band is something we're very, very excited about."
Daft Punk is nominated for four awards: Album Of The Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album for Random Access Memories and Record Of The Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Get Lucky."

Kendrick Lamar - "Swimming Pools (Drank) (Clean)"

Joining the robotic pair onstage will be Mr. Verse of the Year himself Kendrick Lamar (who is up for seven awards, including Best New Artist), Imagine Dragons (who are up for two awards), as well as Pink and Fun.'s Nate Ruess (also with two nods). This marks Pink and Ruess' first time performing their Grammy-nominated hit "Just Give Me A Reason" on network television.
