Mariah Carey wears hip-hugging leather skirt and high-heeled boots for festive spree... but leaves her coat at home as temperatures plummet in icy Aspen

Even icy conditions and freezing temperatures couldn’t stop Mariah Carey from pulling on her high heeled boots and stepping out on Monday.
Indeed, the pop diva was spotted as she precariously
teetered across a very icy sidewalk in Aspen during a rare moment of alone time spent browsing a string of boutiques. 
As temperatures plummeted to minus six, Mariah gamely sported a thin black sweater and tight leather skirt for her latest public outing – her first without children Monroe and Moroccan since arriving in Aspen last week.

The 43-year-old completed the neutral look with a pair of thick black tights, while matching ear mufflers and woolen gloves attempted to atone for the apparent absence of a winter coat.

Mariah’s all black ensemble, in particular the hip-hugging skirt, appeared to be at odds with her frozen surroundings – but the lady in question was clearly unfazed by the conditions, offering a broad smile as she held a gallant assistant’s hand for support.
Despite being a familiar sight in Aspen – where she holiday’s every Christmas – the singer still managed to attract an impressive crowd of star struck fans, with many gasping in amazement as she picked her way across the ice.

Mariah’s latest public appearance comes amid claims her marriage to versatile actor, comedian and occasional rapper Nick Cannon in on the rocks.

Mariah later turned that fire into a blaze when she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that Nick wasn't around during her pregnancy with the twins.

 i had preeclampsia; I had gestational diabetes, a really difficult pregnancy and I was alone most of the time, she said, adding: 'We love Nick, but he’s working!'
When asked about how she would be spending Christmas, Mariah failed to mention Nick, saying: 'I’m going to have the best time possible in a snowy layer ensconced in Aspen with the babies.'
The singer has since documented her annual Colorado break with a string of intimate selfies on Twitter and Instagram, amongst them a loving shot of the entire family – including Nick.
