They're simply having a wonderful Christmastime! Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell catch a flight out of New York for festive break

He was last seen gate-crashing Jimmy Fallon’s Saturday Night Live monologue.
But with the fun over, Sir Paul McCartney got down to the serious business of catching a flight out of New York with wife Nancy Shevell.

The couple were spotted as they made their way across JFK International airport on Monday ahead of what one assumes will simply be a wonderful Christmastime.

Sir Paul appeared to be in high spirits as they made their way out of a chauffeur driven car with armloads of luggage – even offering photographers a genial grin while airport employees helped them ferry their belongings inside.

The relentlessly positive former Beatle was clearly feeling the Christmas spirit at the end of a fruitful year, both professionally and personally.
Indeed, Sir Paul’s latest album, New – his sixteenth as a solo artist and first release since 2007 – won both critical praise and commercial success upon its release in October, climbing to an impressive number three on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Encouraging sales – the album shifted 165,000 copies in its first week –made it his most successful album in 24-years, with the musician enjoying something of a musical renaissance at the age of 71.
Strolling across JFK, he looked typically casual in a black padded jacket, jeans and trainers, with a long scarf casually tossed over one shoulder providing a touch of raffish charm.
But while Sir Paul dressed down, his socialite wife – a native New Yorker – stood out in a pair of indigo leggings and strappy black ankle boots.

The 52-year-old completed her smart casual ensemble with a smart patterned bomber jacket, while a thick winter coat appeared to be slung over one arm as she wrestled with a suitcase and a colourful bag filled with Christmas presents.
Earlier this week Sir Paul made a comical appearance on Saturday Night Live by joining host Fallon for a live rendition of Joy To The World.
After joking that he’d been stuck in traffic, the singer joined in a version Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
