'I dented my six pack - and I DON'T want to look like Billy Bunter again!' Spencer Matthews endures torture at bootcamp to ditch four weeks of festive flab

Party season has taken it out of me a bit - four weeks of fun over December has dented some of the definition of my Men’s Health abs and I’ve decided I’m going to take evasive action before it’s too late.
I don’t want to go back to filming for Made In Chelsea next year looking like Billy Bunter again.
So I booked myself into
No 1 Boot Camp for a few days for their physical version of tough love.
Penance: Spencer Matthews says four weeks of festive feasting have left his Men's Health abs 'dented' - so he went back to bootcamp to get them chiselled

I went up to the camp in Norfolk and was picked up at the station at Kings Lynn and was taken to the secret location at a well turned out country house which has been modernised to accommodate 40 boot campers.

I've been before but the 6am starts still took a bit of getting used to. You are woken by loud dance music and even louder former army fitness instructors, who politely remind you it’s time to rise and shine.
Gruelling: Lifting kettle bells and performing 50 burpees is no mean feat... but Spencer says he didn't want to go back to Made In Chelsea looking like Billy Bunter

A quick low carb breakfast and then straight upon the first of a gruelling set of workout sessions which often involved a large number of burpees.
For those who haven't done any time in the armed services a burpee starts from a standing position then jump down to a press up position, a squat thrust, followed but a star jump. Doesn’t sound too hard? Try doing 50.
After day one at No 1 Boot Camp you feel good about yourself and convinced you can pass the Royal Marines fitness test, by day 2 fatigue starts to set in, and by Day 3 the campers start to get mutinous.

At Boot Camp they call it Terrible Tuesday - this is when you have to push through the pain barrier. Some of the 70/30 women/men get a bit belligerent, there's lots of complaining and whinging but after another day of hell you are through the worst and even start to enjoy the slog and start to build good fitness levels and tolerance to the assault courses put your way.
You can see me pictured on the Rocky IV-style old school work out on the beach with tractor tyres, nautical ropes and kettle weights. After a few days of this I'm pretty much back at my target weight of around 12 st 11lb, and had lost six lbs in only three days, if I’d had a full week (most campers stay Saturday to Saturday) I would have got down to my Men’s Health weight of 12st 8lb.
I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone New Year’s Resolutions of getting back in shape but like me who lacks the necessary willpower to go down to the gym regularly.
LAST MINUTE GIFT SHOPPING (YES, EVERYONE'S GETTING PERFUME)
Like most guys I've left the shopping to the last minute so it's going to be a mad rush at the shops. So here is the last minute saviour of the Christmas shopping – Fragrance.
The smelly stuff if done correctly is still the cure-all last minute gift. Just like a sufficiently expensive bouquet of flowers it always seems to do the trick – but it is essential that they are luxurious enough – cheap scent is worse than no gift at all.
So here’s my quick guide to last minutes Christmas Eve perfume gifts for the three ages of women. I managed to sneak in at the last minute for Christmas delivery... you'll have to hit the high street.
For mothers – Acqua di Palma Iris Nobile Eau de Parfum Gift Set £56, Escentual.com
Classic scent and beautifually packaged.

For girlfriend - Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Toilette Spray 50ml £42.40, Escentual.com - Delicate floral scent or day or night. And I didn't want to buy Gucci Guilty fragrance for obvious reasons.
For younger sister or niece – Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette Refillable Purse Spray 20ml & 15ml Refill, Escentual.com
Delightful first serious fragrance for young ladies, and with handy purse spray for girls playing at grown-ups.
