By all accounts it’s been a quiet year for Cheryl Cole, and she’s finishing it off in style by taking a sun drenched beach holiday far, far away from British shores.
Indeed, as wind and rain lash across the United Kingdom, Cheryl’s been kicking back on warm sand with a cocktail and a stunning
ocean vista – a fact she’s been rather keen to document on Instagram.
In a shot posted on Tuesday, the 30-year-old star is pictured sunning her back while sipping a fruity looking drink through a long straw, her eyes hidden behind a pair of Aviators.
Sunny disposition: Cheryl posted this shot from her recent holiday...but fell short of telling followers where she actually is.
An accompanying caption directed at her followers reads: ‘My first hot Christmas. I hope you’re all having a lovely Christmas Eve! Kisses.’
The singer’s sunny holiday comes amid speculation that she is poised to make a dramatic X Factor comeback when the show returns next year.
Simon Cowell – the man responsible for signing her as a judge before enticing her to the US, only to replace her with Nicole Scherzinger when fans reportedly struggled to understand her Newcastle brogue – recently admitted they ‘had to find a way’ to get her back.
He told radio station LBC 97.3: 'She was a really, really good judge. I mean, she took what she did seriously.
Comeback: Simon COwell says Cheryl may well return to The X Factor next year following another shake up to the judging panel
She used to phone me almost every night - one, two, three o'clock in the morning, talking about songs and what she should be doing.
'That’s the kind of judge you want to be working with on these shows, because they really care...I hope we’re going to get the chance to work together. We have to find a way because we had a lot of fun.'
Cheryl, too, seems to be teasing her fans about a potential return. Over the weekend, she posted a picture of herself and former judge Dannii Minogue to Instagram and wrote: '#Me and Ms.Minogue #2008.'
Success: Cheryl enjoyed three successful series on The X Factor
Louis Walsh has also touched upon Cheryl’s return, telling the Independent.ie: 'That's what I’ve heard, Cheryl is coming back next year with Simon on the panel.
‘He loves her. The two of them on the same panel just works…'
In 2008, Cheryl's act, Alexandra Burke was crowned the winner of the show and a year later, Cole emerged as the winning judge for a second consecutive year after her act, fellow Geordie Joe McElderry, won.
