In happier times: Lauren Goodger has split from
her boyfriend, Jake McLean, and asked the 24-year-old Essex lad to move
out of her flat three weeks ago
The former TOWIE star is said to have called time on the year-long relationship after numerous bitter arguments, and is now 'devastated' to be spending Christmas as a singleton once again.
A source added: 'Lauren and Jake have been rowing for weeks and they’ve decided to call it a
day. Lauren’s devastated but it just wasn’t right any more. Jake wasn’t the guy she’d hoped he was.'
In the wake of the split, the tanning entrepreneur has been taking her mind off her romantic woes by partying with her pals on a series of boozy nights out, including hitting Funky Mojoes with former TOWIE co-star Lydia Bright on Saturday evening.

And Lauren has wasted no time posting numerous motivational messages on her Instagram page, with one reading: 'People think that the most painful thing in life is losing the one you value, the truth is, the most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of valuing someone too much.'
Another said: 'Do not chase people. Be you and do your own thing and work hard. The right people who belong in your life will come to you, and stay.'
While a final post merely said: 'I crave a love so deep the ocean would be jealous.'

The couple briefly parted ways last month, and while Lauren insisted Jake was a 'great guy', she admitted he might not be a part of her future.
She said in an interview with new! magazine: 'Who knows what's round the corner but I'm happy being by myself. I don't need a man in my life. I'm very comfortable being me, having my career. I've got a boyfriend but I'm not desperate to settle.
'I've got things I want to do and places I want to go. Jake might be there, he might not. I'm not saying he's not going to be. I hope he is because I love him... but I don't know what's round the corner.'
Guess who that's aimed at? The 27-year-old reality star appeared to be aiming her comments at her former flame

Lauren and Jake got together in October 2012 after being introduced through mutual friends while she was training for Dancing On Ice.
Jake moved into the reality star's Essex flat after six months together, and as recently as September, Lauren declared he was the 'love of my life' as she shared a smug selfie on her Twitter page.
The aspiring businesswoman previously dated her TOWIE co-star and childhood sweetheart, Mark Wright, on and off for 10 years, before the pair finally parted ways in 2011.

Mark has since gone on to find love with
Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, who he proposed to while on
holiday in Dubai in September. And to add insult to injury, the 27-year-old TV presenter recently dismissed his relationship with Lauren as merely a teenage romance and claimed he 'obviously' hadn't loved her.
Gushing over his stunning new fiancée, Mark told heat magazine: 'I never realised love could actually feel like this.

'I thought I'd been in love before, but I obviously haven't. That was, like, teenage, but grown-up love is totally different.'
Mark even went so far as to compare his relationship with Michelle to the tragic romance between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams' characters in epic love story, The Notebook.
'Every single thing you imagine and you dream about falling in love with someone, I've got now. I remember watching The Notebook, and I honestly feel like what Noah has got, I've got.'
MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Lauren Goodger for comment.
Moving on: Mark is now engaged to Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan
